About the Design

The Botanical Brioche Make-A-Long invites knitters to explore the beauty of two-colour Brioche knitting through two stunning project options: the Among the Leaves Scarf and the Among the Vines Cowl. Both offer a well-supported introduction to Brioche, combining familiar stitches with captivating new textures.

​Jennifer Weissman’s designs reflect her signature style: thoughtful, elegant, and rooted in nature. With soothing repetition, they are ideal patterns for intermediate knitters looking to build confidence while creating something wearable, or for experienced knitters who simply want to enjoy the rhythm of a well-crafted design.

Yarn Options and Inspirational Colourways

Participants can choose from three featured Scheepjes yarns: Woolwise, Softfun, or Scrumptious, each selected to enhance stitch definition and bring its own unique character to the project. Whether knitters are drawn to the natural warmth of wool, the softness of cotton- acrylic yarns, or the sustainability of eco-conscious blends, this MAL offers creative freedom through fibre and colour choice.

Materials

For maximum impact, choose yarn shades with strong contrast when working two-colour brioche sections. Pairing a light with dark will create definition and help the design shine.

Community Pattern Support

Join the vibrant Official Scheepjes Facebook Groups (International or Dutch) to take part and knit alongside a supportive global community. Participants are encouraged to share their MAL progress throughout the event to help inspire others and celebrate each step of the journey.

​While the designer will not be producing dedicated video tutorials, she will be providing curated links to trusted resources to help participants navigate the key techniques of Brioche knitting with confidence. Together with the moderators and fellow crafters, Jen will be on hand throughout to offer encouragement, and tips.

About the Designer

Jennifer Weissman is the creative mind behind ShadyStroll Knits. A lifelong maker, she is passionate about playing with yarn and dreaming up beautiful, wearable knits. If she isn’t knitting, she’s probably thinking about it. Jennifer draws inspiration from the patterns and shapes she encounters in both architecture and nature, and is known for designs that incorporate subtle details to catch the eye. Her approachable style invites knitters to build their skills while enjoying the process.
