Violet Vase
By Kwannie ChengThe Violet Vase is a gentle upcycling project that turns a simple vase into a soft, floral statement piece. Covered in crocheted violets, the design adds texture and colour without overwhelming the form, making it an easy way to refresh a thrifted find or give new life to a vase you already have at home.
Each flower is crocheted separately and then arranged across the surface of the vase, enabling you to play with placement and scale before fixing them with glue. In the sample, smaller violets sit near the top while larger blooms gather towards the base, but the pattern is easy to adapt to suit the shape and size of your chosen vase. Worked using Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat, the fine mercerised cotton gives the flowers a crisp finish and helps them hold their shape beautifully.
The Violet Vase pattern includes full written instructions and is part of Scheepjes Pattern Portfolio Volume 06: Maxi, featuring six upcycling crochet projects by Kwannie. The booklet is available in print from Scheepjes retailers and as a digital download on Ravelry, in English and Dutch.
