Sweet & Sugary Candy Jar

By Kwannie Cheng

The Sweet and Sugary Candy Jar is a playful upcycling project that turns a Kilner-style jar into a delicious display piece. Topped with a generous pile of crocheted retro sweets, it brings together nostalgia and humour.

Using Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat, each candy is worked separately, enabling you to mix shapes, textures and colours as you go. From liquorice allsorts to marshmallow twists and gummy-style treats, the design invites you to build your own sugary scene from your favourites. The crocheted candies are arranged onto the lid, giving new purpose to a simple glass jar, perfect for storing sugar treats or collecting leftover yarn for future scrapbusting projects.

The Sweet and Sugary Candy Jar pattern includes full written instructions and is part of Scheepjes Pattern Portfolio Volume 06: Maxi, featuring six upcycling crochet projects by Kwannie. The booklet is available in print from Scheepjes retailers and as a digital download on Ravelry, in English and Dutch.
