Robin Vest

The Robin Vest is a cosy layer designed to keep babies and toddlers comfortable as the temperature changes throughout the day. Worked flat in rows, it features a garter block pattern that creates a basketweave effect with plenty of tactile interest for curious little fingers. With its relaxed fit and single wooden toggle fastening, it slips on quickly over everyday outfits, making dressing wriggly explorers just that bit easier when the sun disappears behind the clouds.

Featured here in two different looks, a playful striped version and a modern colour block version, the vest is knitted using Scheepjes Stone Washed XXL. The breathable cotton acrylic blend is OEKO TEX® certified and creates a fabric with a soft, lightweight, gently woolly feel despite being completely wool free, making it a comfortable choice for young, delicate skin.

The pattern includes full written instructions, a knitting chart for the garter block stitch pattern, a schematic and a measurement table for five sizes to fit babies and toddlers from 3 months to 3 years. It is featured in Scheepjes Pattern Portfolio Volume 08: Stone Washed XXL, which showcases five knitting and crochet designs made using this soft, super chunky yarn.
