Snow Crystal Shawl
By Amanda BeaumontSnow Crystal Shawl
If you enjoy the kind of knit you can pick up at the end of the day, settle into your favourite spot, and keep stitching without obsessing over gauge, checking the pattern or switching colours, then the Snow Crystal Shawl is likely to become a favourite.
Worked from the bottom point upwards, this asymmetrical shawl grows into an easy, draping shape with a neat straight edge finish. The simple four row repeat is quick to remember, making it a relaxing project for quiet evenings, long train journeys, or slow weekends.
As you knit, the colour gradually shifts from soft, snow washed tints into richer shades, all from a single cake of Scheepjes Snowfall. The fade appears naturally across the fabric, while the yarn’s fluffy halo gives the stitches a softly blurred look that feels warm and cosy without feeling heavy.
The finished shawl measures approximately 145 x 100cm, making it generous enough to wrap around your shoulders before heading out or to curl up in while winding down at home.
The Snow Crystal Shawl is a variation of the Essence Shawl, made using Scheepjes Whirl, another beautiful gradient yarn. You can find the original version in YARN The After Party 13.
