Jesse Sweater
By HandmadepastThe Jesse Sweater is a cosy knit that makes the most of the beautiful stitch definition and even tones of Scheepjes Kindsome. It’s an inviting project with a pleasing rhythm for quiet afternoons, whether you’re knitting for your own little one or making a gift from the heart. The repeating pattern of tiny leaves adds visual and textural interest to the fabric. Featured in a fresh green, it’s one of those designs where you can’t go wrong choosing a colour, as it looks lovely in every shade.
Worked flat from the bottom up, the back, front, and sleeves are knitted separately before being joined to shape the yoke. A button fastening at the shoulder makes dressing easy, while tidy finishing details give the sweater a polished handmade feel.
The Jesse Sweater pattern includes full written instructions, a cable knitting pattern chart, a schematic, and a measurement table for four sizes from 0 to 24 months. You'll find it in Scheepjes Pattern Portfolio Volume 04: Kindsome, along with four other baby knits by the same designer. The collection is available both in print from Scheepjes retailers and as a digital download on Ravelry, in English and Dutch.
