The Simple Thing

Is it a scarf? Is it a shawl? Designer Melina Brell describes The Simple Thing as "a simple little knitted thing in-between", and we think that's part of its appeal.

For our sample, we held Scheepjes Kindsome in Forest Green 717 together with Scheepjes Trailway in Foxglove 007 and knitted on 4.5mm needles. The addition of Trailway brings colour variation, texture and a tweed-inspired finish that gives this versatile accessory a completely different character.

Worked sideways in garter stitch with i-cord edges, The Simple Thing is an approachable project that lets the yarn combination shine. While our sample used two balls of Kindsome and one ball of Trailway, while the adaptable design makes it easy to customise should you prefer it longer, shorter, wide or narrower.
