About the designer

Scheepjes blogger Nerissa is an Australian born expat now living in the Netherlands. She grew up on a farm in rural South Australia, with one of her most treasured memories being her time spent in the shearing shed lying under the table where the wool flocks would be thrown, fibers floating down around her like snowflakes.

With this, and being taught how to knit and spin as a small child by her grandmother, the world of wool has long been part of Nerissa’s DNA. Her intuition soon led her to learning crochet, though after a long hiatus, it wasn’t until the pregnancy of her daughter that she delved back into her hobby, her daughter then being her greatest inspiration.

Nerissa believes the art of knitting and crochet brings her back to her roots and feels an enormous satisfaction in bringing wool and yarns to life with nothing more than a needle or hook in hand. She hopes you too enjoy the journey of this wonderful craft!
