Week 10: Border Part 4

Week-10

Border Round 14 (MC)
Sl st into the next ch-1 sp. Ch 4 (counts as tr + ch-1 sp), tr in the same ch-1 sp. This is your first corner made.

*Tr in the next st. (Make 3 tr in the next ch-2 sp. Tr in the next ch-1 sp, ch 1, tr in the next ch-1 sp) 22 times. Make 3 tr in the last ch-2 sp. Tr in the last st. (Tr, ch 1, tr) in the next ch-1 corner sp.*

Repeat from * to * 5 more times, omitting the last corner on the last repeat. Join to the third ch of the beg ch-4 with a sl st.

Stitch Count Per Side: 117 tr and 22 ch-1 sps, (not including ch-1 corner sps)

Border Round 15 (MC)
Sl st into the next ch-1 sp. Ch 3 (counts as htr + ch-1 sp), htr in the same ch-1 sp. This is your first corner made.

*Skip the first (hidden) st. (Htr in the next 5 sts, htr in the next ch-1 sp) 22 times. Htr in the last 6 sts. (Htr, ch 1, htr) in the next ch-1 corner sp.*

Repeat from * to * 5 more times, omitting the last corner on the last repeat. Join to the second ch of the beg ch-3 with a sl st. Fasten off and work away your ends.

Stitch Count Per Side: 140 htr (not including ch-1 corner sps)

Border Round 16 (CC4)
The 5-tr groups in this round should fall in the htr from Round 15 that falls in the last tr of a 3-tr group from Round 14.

Join CC4 by making a standing dc in any ch-1 corner sp. (Ch 2, dc) in the same ch-1 corner sp. This is your first corner made.

*Skip the first (hidden) st. (Dc in the next 7 sts. Skip the next 2 sts, make 5 tr in the next st, skip the next 2 sts) 11 times. Dc in the last 7 sts. (Dc, ch 2, dc) in the next ch-1 corner sp.*

Repeat from * to * 5 more times, omitting the last corner on the last repeat. Join to the first dc with a sl st. Fasten off and work away your ends.

Stitch Count Per Side: 86 dc and 55 tr (not including ch-2 corner sps)

Border Round 17 (CC2)
Join CC2 by making a standing dtr in any ch-2 corner sp. (Ch 1, dtr) 4 times into the same ch-2 corner sp. This Scallop is your first corner made.

*Skip the first 3 sts, the first one of which will be hidden. (Dc in the next st. [Dc, ch 3, dc] in the next st. Dc in the next st. Skip the next 2 sts, which should be the last 2 dc before the next 5-tr group. [Make 2 tr in the next st] twice. [2 dtr, ch 1, 2 dtr] in the next st. [Make 2 tr in the next st] twice. Skip the next 2 sts) 11 times.

Dc in the next st. [Dc, ch 3, dc] in the next st. Dc in the next st. Skip the last 3 sts. (Dtr, ch 1) 4 times into the next ch-2 corner sp. Dtr in the same sp to complete the Scallop.*

Repeat from * to * 5 more times, omitting the last corner on the last repeat. Join to the first dtr with a sl st. Fasten off and work away your ends.

Stitch Count Per Side: 48 dc, 88 tr, 44 dtr, 11 ch-1 sps, and 12 ch-3 sps (not including corner Scallops, which will consist of 5 dtr and 4 ch-1 sps)

Border Round 18 (CC6)
You will be marking 24 stitches with a SM in this round (see Important Note below). Also, this round will wobble a bit.

When making a BPdc around the (dc, ch 3, dc) from the previous round, insert your hook from back to front around the post of the first dc, then insert your hook from front to back around the post of the second dc and complete a BPdc as normal. In other words, you will be making ONE BPdc around TWO posts.

Week-10.2

Join CC6 by making a standing BPdc around the post of the first dtr of any corner Scallop from the previous round. (Ch 1, BPdc around the next dtr) 4 times. This is your first corner made.

*Ch 2. (Skip the next dc. Make a BPdc around the [dc, ch 3, dc] from the previous round. Ch 1 and skip the next dc. Dc in the next 6 sts. [Htr, ch 1, htr] in the next ch-1 sp. Dc in the next 6 sts, the first of which will be hidden. Ch 1) 11 times. Skip the next dc. Make a BPdc around the last [dc, ch 3, dc] from the previous round. Ch 2 and skip the last dc. (BPdc around the next dtr, ch 1) 4 times. BPdc around the last dtr.*

Repeat from * to * 5 more times, omitting the last corner on the last repeat. Join to the first BPdc with a sl st. Fasten off and work away your ends.

Important Note
Before you go on, please mark the following sts/sps on EACH side with a SM:

  • Locate the first ch-2 sp after a corner Scallop and place a SM in the next ch-1 sp.
  • Skip the next dc and place a SM in the next dc.
  • Locate the last ch-2 sp before a corner Scallop and place a SM in the ch-1 sp directly before it.
  • Place a SM in the second-to-last dc before this ch-1 sp.
